We identified and resolved a stability issue that was causing ZeroBus to crash randomly on certain Windows systems. This affected some users during playback and rendering, and we know how disruptive that can be when you’re working on a mix.
The plugin now runs reliably across all Windows 10 and 11 configurations.
When you load ZeroBus for the first time, the compression TYPE is now set to GLUE instead of FAT.
Why this change?
After looking at usage patterns, we found that most users reach for GLUE mode when working on mix buses and group channels. It’s the go-to choice for transparent cohesion without changing the character of your mix.
What is GLUE mode?
GLUE is our 4K-style bus compressor model that works in series. During the learning phase, ZeroBus analyzes your material and automatically sets the threshold to target around −9dB of gain reduction at peaks, with proportional makeup compensation.
The result: natural-sounding glue that holds your mix together without obvious compression artifacts.
When to use FAT instead:
FAT mode (parallel compression inspired by the H1176) is still there when you need it. It’s great for drum buses and situations where you want more density and presence using the “New York Style” parallel approach — heavily compressed signal mixed with the dry for punch and body.
ZeroBus is our two-step processor for fast mix preparation:
Perfect for mix buses, drum buses, and stereo group channels when you need professional results without spending time on complex parameters.
Version 1.1.1 keeps ZeroBus running smoothly on Windows and sets you up with the compression mode that works for most mixing situations right from the start.
