Ray Tracing Physics
Unlike convolution reverbs that use recorded impulse responses, Spaces MK2 calculates reflections by tracing acoustic rays through your defined room. Each ray’s delay and attenuation is determined by the path length and the materials it encounters. The result is reverb that follows the same rules real sound follows — natural behavior without the artifacts that sometimes plague IR-based reverbs.
Define the Room
Set the Width, Length, and Height in meters. Choose materials for each wall — each material has LF and HF controls for both reflections and diffusion. Remove the ceiling for outdoor or open-air environments.
Position Sources and Microphones
Place Speaker L and Speaker R sources at X/Y/Z coordinates. Position the listener/microphone independently in 3D space. Move the mic closer to a source to hear more direct sound with less reverb. Angle the sources to hear how panning affects the room response.
Choose Your Output
Stereo mode for traditional mixing workflows. Binaural mode uses a virtual head with two ears for immersive headphone monitoring — no special headphones or processing chain required.
