HoRNet Total EQ 1.3.3: The Ultimate Digital Equalizer with Analog Emulation

We are thrilled to announce the latest update for HoRNet Total EQ, our highly versatile digital equalizer with advanced analog emulation. Version 1.3.3 brings a series of improvements, including bug fixes and enhancements, making this already powerful plugin even more reliable and efficient for all your mixing and mastering needs. Whether you’re a seasoned engineer or a music producer, Total EQ’s unique features and intuitive interface offer an unprecedented level of control over your sound, giving you the tools needed to shape and perfect your audio.

What Sets HoRNet Total EQ Apart

At its core, HoRNet Total EQ is a precision equalizer that incorporates a handy built-in spectrum analyzer. This seamless integration between equalization and visual feedback offers a dynamic approach to editing your tracks. One of the standout features of Total EQ is its user-friendly interface. Each equalizer band is directly controlled from the frequency chart, meaning you no longer have to search for knobs or sliders when tweaking a band. All the parameters you need are right at your fingertips, making the entire editing process much faster and more intuitive. This real-time control dramatically simplifies the EQ process and allows you to focus more on creative decisions.

Another notable feature is the plugin’s versatility. Total EQ offers up to 12 different equalizer bands, allowing for maximum flexibility in your audio processing. Each band can either function as a precise digital equalizer or emulate the character of analog gear. This duality ensures that whether you want clinical precision or warm analog color, Total EQ can deliver exactly what you need. The analog emulation in this plugin is one of the most sophisticated we’ve ever created, simulating not only the saturation found in analog gear but also the tolerance of individual components. This subtle variation ensures that each band has its own character, creating a dynamic and “alive” quality in your sound that digital EQs can’t replicate. No two bands behave the same way, which adds complexity and warmth to the audio, just like the unpredictable nature of analog gear.

Comprehensive Filter Types and Control Over Every Parameter

HoRNet Total EQ offers a comprehensive set of 17 available filter types. These include commonly used filters such as low pass, high pass, band pass, high shelf, low shelf, and the classic parametric peak equalizer. Each of these filter types comes with its own set of adjustable parameters, providing you with a range of options to shape your sound exactly how you want it. With Total EQ, you are no longer limited to a few standard filter types. You can experiment with a variety of creative options, adjusting the frequency response to fit the specific needs of each track in your mix.

Furthermore, each band has the option to act as a dynamic filter, an incredibly powerful feature that borrows automatic attack, release, and threshold settings from our HoRNet DynEQ plugin. This dynamic functionality allows each band to adjust in real time based on the incoming audio. By simply dragging a dot on the screen, you can make dynamic EQ adjustments that respond to the material you’re working with, whether you’re tightening up a snare drum or adding some punch to a vocal track. The ability to control the dynamics of each band separately gives you unprecedented flexibility and control in crafting the perfect mix.

Mid/Side Processing for Stereo Imaging

Another key feature of HoRNet Total EQ is its Mid/Side (M/S) capabilities. With this feature, you can individually select and adjust the frequency response of the mid (sum) and side (difference) channels in your stereo image. This gives you the ability to make adjustments that affect the center of your mix separately from the outer stereo elements. Whether you want to enhance the stereo width of a mix or focus on tightening the center image, M/S processing lets you tailor your EQ adjustments with precision. This is especially useful when mixing complex stereo material such as orchestral arrangements, wide synth pads, or vocals in a dense mix. By adjusting the mid and side channels independently, you can achieve a more polished and balanced stereo image.

Global Controls for Maximum Convenience

In addition to the individual band controls, HoRNet Total EQ also provides global controls for convenience and efficiency. You can enable or disable analog emulation and saturation for all bands simultaneously, giving you quick access to the tonal qualities of analog gear without adjusting each band individually. For example, if you want to drive the analog engine of the plugin without altering the output level, you can adjust the input and output levels and have them linked together. This ensures that changes made to the input level will automatically update the output level, maintaining consistent volume levels while still allowing you to drive the analog saturation.

Version 1.3.3: Bug Fixes and Enhancements

HoRNet Total EQ version 1.3.3 brings several important improvements and fixes that enhance the plugin’s overall performance. Some of the key updates in this version include:

  • Fixed messy spectrum view in certain circumstances: This ensures that the spectrum analyzer behaves consistently, providing clear and accurate visual feedback during editing.

  • Fixed a small memory leak: The plugin now runs more efficiently, reducing memory usage.

  • Fixed hidden Q slider value for very low gain levels: This ensures that the Q value of the EQ bands is displayed correctly, even at extreme gain settings.

  • Fixed crash in Digital Performer 11: Total EQ now works seamlessly with Digital Performer 11, resolving any compatibility issues.

These updates ensure that Total EQ remains a reliable and stable tool in your audio production toolkit, offering the best performance possible.

I wish it had a threshold control. At the moment it only auto compress which is great for leveling peaks, but not so great for sound manipulation
