We are excited to announce the latest update to AutoGain Pro MK2, our versatile and advanced gain automation utility. This update brings enhanced functionality and improvements to the plugin, reinforcing its reputation as a powerful tool for managing dynamic changes in your audio. Whether you’re working with volume automation, mid/side processing, or detailed signal control, AutoGain Pro MK2 continues to be an indispensable asset for audio professionals looking for precision and flexibility.
AutoGain Pro MK2 is a highly flexible and sophisticated volume automation processor that allows users to automate gain adjustments in a precise and customizable manner. The plugin offers advanced features that are typically found in other audio processors such as compressors or transient shapers, but with the unique ability to automate gain changes based on a variety of user-defined inputs.
At its core, AutoGain Pro MK2 doubles the processing power of its predecessor, AutoGain Pro, by incorporating two distinct detectors and two separate processors. This dual-detector system gives users the ability to finely tune their automation controls for more accurate and reliable results, allowing the plugin to work in both stereo and mid/side modes.
The defining feature of AutoGain Pro MK2 is its dual-detector setup, which offers unprecedented flexibility in how you manage gain automation. Each of the two detectors can operate independently, allowing you to select from five different sources—either internal or external. This means you can choose the signal that will serve as the basis for gain adjustments and automation.
Detector One can use one of the five source options.
Detector Two can also be set to a source of your choice.
This level of flexibility is ideal for users who need to automate gain with precision, based on different parts of the signal chain or particular elements of a mix. Whether you’re using internal detectors that analyze the signal directly or external sources for more complex automation, AutoGain Pro MK2 ensures that your volume changes are in sync with your creative vision.
Another major enhancement in AutoGain Pro MK2 is the addition of mid/side processing, along with the traditional stereo mode. This means the plugin can process the mid (center) and side (stereo) elements of your signal independently. This flexibility provides users with more control over the stereo image, making it easier to shape the spatial balance of their mix.
Stereo Mode allows for the automation of gain in a conventional left-right stereo configuration.
Mid/Side Mode enables users to isolate the center and sides of the stereo field, providing more advanced control over the gain structure in each region.
This functionality is particularly useful for those working with complex mixes or stereo image manipulation, where fine-tuning individual parts of the audio can make a significant difference in the final sound.
One of the most powerful aspects of AutoGain Pro MK2 is the ability to fine-tune the control signal for precise automation. Each detector comes equipped with attack and release controls, giving users the option to adjust how quickly or slowly the gain changes in response to the detected signal. This allows for more nuanced and dynamic volume adjustments, which are especially useful for dynamic range compression or for creating smooth transitions in the audio.
Additionally, the plugin features high-pass and low-pass filters that enable users to focus on specific parts of the signal. For example, you can filter out low-frequency rumble or high-frequency hiss, allowing you to focus on the parts of the signal that truly need volume automation. These filters help you isolate and shape the signal for more targeted gain control, ensuring that you’re only applying automation to the most relevant parts of your mix.
Once the control signal is generated by the detectors, it is sent to one of the processors, where it is compared to the input signal. The processor then computes and applies the required gain adjustment based on the control signal’s characteristics. This process ensures that the output is consistently adjusted to your desired level, resulting in smooth, automated changes to your audio.
To further refine the automation process, AutoGain Pro MK2 includes a scaler knob that allows you to adjust the overall computed gain. In addition to this, you can limit the gain with the max gain and min gain controls, which allow you to set boundaries for the gain adjustment. This is particularly useful if you want to ensure that the gain does not exceed or fall below certain levels, preserving the integrity of your mix and preventing distortion or unwanted volume fluctuations.
The latest update, version 2.0.8, is a maintenance release aimed at improving the stability and functionality of AutoGain Pro MK2. The update includes a fix for a regression bug that caused some DAWs to crash when selecting the “classic” mode. This issue was identified and resolved in this update, ensuring that users can work with AutoGain Pro MK2 without interruptions, regardless of their DAW choice.
Best of all, this update is free for all existing users of the plugin. If you already own AutoGain Pro MK2, you can easily download the latest version from your user area. We are committed to continually improving the functionality and performance of our products, and we hope that this update enhances your workflow and overall experience with the plugin.
With the release of AutoGain Pro MK2, we have taken an already powerful tool and made it even more versatile, precise, and flexible. Whether you’re automating volume changes, shaping dynamic range, or refining stereo or mid/side processing, AutoGain Pro MK2 offers a wide range of features that allow you to get the most out of your audio. Its dual-detector system, fine-tuning controls, and advanced processing options make it an essential tool for anyone looking to take their audio production to the next level.
