HoRNet HA2A vintage opto compressor overview
HoRNet HA2A is a faithful recreation of a very famous opto compressor made of tubes, transformers and a very peculiar combo of a photo resistor and an electroluminescent panel.
We modeled a real piece of gear, we measured the response of the unit, the transfer function, the attack and release behavior and put everything into this new plugin which improves the OPTO model in Multicomp Plus MK2 and recreates the sound of this historical compressor.

HoRNet AnalogStage MK2 overview
HoRNet AnalogStage MK2 is a console emulation plugin that re-creates those sound characteristics usually associated with analog gear (saturation, hiss, non linear frequency response, etc.) and can be used to bring to your mix some analog console flavor if used on every channel or buss.
AnalogStage simulates the response of three different types of analog technology: operational amplifiers (the cleanest and more modern technology), transistor (the discrete transistor designs were popular in the 70s and have some fat saturation) and tube (the dynamic and smooth saturation of the past) both Transistor and Tube modes includes an advanced transformer emulation since that component is an integral part of te sound of that era. You can choose whether to use each instance of AnalogStage MK2 independently or linked together, both in groups (up to 8) or globally. By default some of the parameters that determines the sound of the “console” are linked globally but with a right click on every control you can choose if that control is linked only in the group or globally.

HoRNet SpringVerb overview
SpringVerb is an algorithmic reverb plugin that recreates the physical interactions of a spring reverb.
This kind of reverb is very peculiar since it’s obtained through electro-mechanic stimulation of springs at different tension, this movement is then converted back into electrical signal by some pickup.
The spring reverb was born together with plate reverb as a mean to create artificial reverberation in the 30s and was made popular by Hammond organs which adopted this kind of reverberation due to its small size. This factor also lead to the adoption of spring reverbs from many guitar amplifier manufacturer and since then the sound of this kind of reverb has been part of recording history.

HoRNet VCA overview
HoRNet VCA offer a toolkit for controlling the track level, it can work as a simple Voltage Controlled Amplifier using a control signal in it’s sidechain input.
Starting from there you can add functionality like an envelope follower on the control signal, with attack and release ranging from 1ms to 3000ms or an RMS module.
The VCA acts only if the control signal is above the set threshold that goes from -80dB to 0dB, above this threshold positive or negative gain, which can be scaled by a specific control, is applied.

HoRNet Samp overview
Spatial Audio Master Processor plugin
HoRNet SAMP is a processor designed by the Italian engineer Antonio Porcelli to work with Dolby Atmos (more info at Dolby official site) mixes and resolves one of “problems” that engineers find when approaching this new format: there is no master bus. This big difference with conventional stereo mixes makes it impossible do to any of the classic adjustment you do on a stereo mix.
Imagine you have 128 different tracks and you want to lift the “highs”, you should go one by one and adjust the EQ, SAMP resolves this issue by providing four classic master bus processors that are linked together, so a change on an instance of SAMP is reflected on every other instance, simultaneously.

HoRNet 3XOver overview
The HoRNet 3XOver is a very peculiar plugin since it’a half a DJ eq, half a three band crossover with selectable slope and output for each band.
At it’s core there is a system of three filters, a low-pass, for the low frequencies, a band-pass for the mid frequencies and a high-pass for the high frequencies.
Each of the filters has a selectable slope of 24dB/Octave or 48dB/Octave, a freely adjustable cutoff frequency point, gain control, and a ON/OFF switch to kill that frequency band.
The 3XOver provides four different stereo outputs, a Master (identified by an “M” on the output selectors) and three auxiliary outputs (identified by the numbers “1”,”2” and “3” on the output selectors).

HoRNet SongKey MK4 overview
HoRNet SongKey MK4 is the fourth version of our key recognition tool, but it doesn’t do simple key recognition, it’s also capable of detecting the chord being played and the song tempo. We thought it was a good idea to also add MIDI input (to be able to detect chords and key of midi tracks) and MIDI output for the recognised chords so you can record them and edit the track for your own needs, also SongKey MK4 provides new standalone version that is able to generate midi clock to keep all your other M;IDI gear in sync with a live audio input.
Of course this new SongKey provides better accuracy in every aspect: key recognition is faster and more precise, chords are detected more precisely and tempo is more accurate.

HoRNet Freqs overview
HoRNet Freqs is a spectrum analyzer that provides two different kind of visualization of the audio spectrum, the first one is called “analog” and is inspired to an analog hardware spectrum analyzer that is still found on the master of many recording studios even today. The second one is called “digital” and it’s our own take on the typical spectrum analyzer based on the FFT (the standard math to transform an audio file into its spectrum components)
Freqs GUI is completely resizable and it’s crisp and smooth on every display thanks to its hardware accelerated drawing.
The plugin offer different integration times and ranges for the levels shown by the spectrum analyzer, it also provides a peak hold feature that was not availalble in the original hardware unit. Freqs can display both the “mid” (or sum) part of a stereo signal and the “side” (or difference) to help you isolate problematic frequencies. -
HoRNet L3012 Bass Channel overview
HoRNet L3012 is a channel strip plugin designed with bass players in mind and contains all the tools needed to make a bass sound good.
The plugin is the result of the collaboration between HoRNet Plugins and Lusi, Italian bass player and aims to give you in a single package the tools you need for bass processing both in studio and live.
HoRNet L3012 packs under its interface an analog tube preamp section that can be overdriven to add grit to your sound, followed by a gentle “bass boost” circuit and a transient shaper, which makes the attack and picks of your bass sound great. You then get high pass and low pass filters, a low shelf, high shelf and a fully parametric mid band to fix resonances and shape your sound, the last stage is a complete compressor modelled after a famous VCA compressor often used on bass.

HoRNet MultiFreqs overview
HoRNet MultiFreqs is a spectrum analyser that provides two different kind of visualisation of the audio spectrum for up to 28 tracks together.
The first visualisation type is called “analog” and is inspired to an analog hardware spectrum analyser that is still found on the master of many recording studios even today, the second one is called “digital” and it’s our own take on the typical spectrum analyser based on the FFT (the standard math to transform an audio file into its spectrum components)
