HATEFISh RhyGenerator 1.1.0

We are excited to announce the release of HATEFISh RhyGenerator version 1.1.2, a powerful Euclidean rhythm generator designed to elevate your music production experience. The RhyGenerator is an innovative step sequencer that allows you to generate rhythms based on the Euclidean algorithm, a technique that has been widely used in music theory to create rhythm patterns that are as evenly spaced as possible. This version introduces some important features and improvements that enhance its flexibility, usability, and compatibility with various systems and DAWs.

At its core, the HoRNet RhyGenerator is an advanced rhythm generator that allows you to distribute a specific number of beats as evenly as possible across a set number of steps in your sequence. This creates unique, intricate rhythms that have a smooth and natural feel, which would otherwise be difficult to achieve using traditional methods. Inspired by the famous paper on Euclidean rhythms by Godfried Toussaint, the RhyGenerator takes a complex mathematical process and makes it easy for musicians, producers, and sound designers to integrate these patterns into their music.

The plugin allows you to create up to 16 individual rhythms, each with a maximum of 32 steps. This gives you a great deal of control over the structure of your sequences and provides you with endless possibilities for rhythm creation. The 16 lanes on the GUI of the plugin represent separate step sequencers, each of which is linked to your DAW’s tempo. This ensures that the generated rhythms stay in time with your project, making it incredibly easy to integrate the sequences into your workflow.

One of the standout features of the HoRNet RhyGenerator is its flexibility when it comes to sequencer modes. Each of the 16 step sequencers can operate in various modes, including Single Note, Arpeggiator Up, Arpeggiator Down, Chord, and MIDI Control. These modes give you the flexibility to experiment with different rhythmic patterns and note outputs in real time.

In Note Mode, the sequencer outputs the specified note according to the rhythm generated by the Euclidean algorithm. This mode is perfect for creating simple yet effective rhythmic patterns. In Arpeggiator Up and Arpeggiator Down modes, the sequencer outputs the notes in ascending or descending order based on the rhythm you set. This feature allows you to create arpeggiated patterns that flow smoothly within the rhythmic structure.

In Chord Mode, all input notes are played simultaneously on each active beat. This is especially useful when you want to create complex rhythmic chord progressions that stay perfectly in sync with the beat. Meanwhile, Control Mode enables the sequencer to send MIDI Control Change messages instead of notes. This functionality provides you with the ability to rhythmically automate any parameter of your synthesizers or other MIDI-compatible instruments, giving you a great deal of creative control over your music production.

Each sequencer in the RhyGenerator allows you to independently adjust the number of steps and beats. This gives you the flexibility to fine-tune your rhythms and experiment with different patterns. You can also assign different MIDI channels to each sequencer, allowing you to control up to 16 different synths or other MIDI instruments simultaneously. This multi-channel support makes the RhyGenerator perfect for creating complex, evolving rhythms across multiple tracks.

Additionally, each sequencer is equipped with an LFO (Low-Frequency Oscillator) that can be used to modulate the MIDI message values. This adds another layer of depth and movement to your sequences, allowing you to create evolving rhythms that change over time. The LFO is fully customizable, enabling you to control the modulation speed, depth, and other parameters to match your creative vision.

The HoRNet RhyGenerator is designed to be highly compatible with a wide range of DAWs and systems. The plugin is linked to your DAW’s tempo, making it easy to integrate the generated rhythms into your projects. The step sequencers are intuitive and provide you with clear visual feedback, ensuring that you can create complex rhythmic patterns without getting lost in the details. You can also adjust the number of steps and beats for each sequencer, providing further flexibility to experiment with different rhythmic structures.

This update to version 1.1.2 introduces several important improvements and bug fixes. The most notable feature is the addition of full macOS Catalina support for the stand-alone app. This enhancement ensures that users on macOS can fully integrate the RhyGenerator into their setup without any compatibility issues. In addition, we’ve addressed the VST3 issues with Ableton Live, ensuring that the plugin now functions smoothly within this popular DAW. We’ve also fixed the de-sync problem between sequencers, which improves synchronization across multiple sequences and allows for a more consistent performance. Lastly, we’ve removed unnecessary audio settings in the stand-alone app, streamlining the interface and making it easier to use.

The RhyGenerator plugin is a versatile and creative tool that enhances your rhythm production workflow. Whether you’re designing complex percussion patterns, experimenting with arpeggios, or creating intricate MIDI automation, this plugin gives you the tools you need to explore new rhythmic possibilities and unlock fresh creative ideas. It’s an essential tool for any producer, musician, or sound designer who is looking to elevate their rhythm programming capabilities.

The update is free for all current owners of the plugin, and you can easily download the latest version from your user area. With this update, the HoRNet RhyGenerator is now more powerful and versatile than ever before. It’s time to take your rhythm generation to the next level with the RhyGenerator 1.1.2 update!
